Staff
We currently have six full time vets, together with a support staff of 14 further staff all seeking to ensure the best service possible for you and your animals.
Vets
We have now divided our vets into large (horse and cattle) and small animal (pet) teams so as to provide your animals with the best service we can.

<-- Simon Hiles has been a partner at this practice since 1997. He is usually found at either the Ladybank or Newport clinics. His main interests are in the agricultural sector, and also in equine reproduction work. Outside work he produces his own pottery in his back garden
--> Will Goad joined the partnership in 1998. He is usually based in St Andrews with a special interest in small animal surgery. Most of his leisure time is spent with his family, which now includes a third young son or walking Orla, his black Labrador. He also tries to keep fit by running and cycling, and took part in the First Monster event again this year with a team of friends from Dundee University for the third consecutive year, this time finishing in 4th place.
<-- Laura Rennie joined the practice in 2006, and is primarily involved in the equine side of the practice. She has a particular interest in equine internal medicine and reproduction. Her agricultural background and previous MSc and M.Phil in dairy cow welfare means that she also enjoys the general aspects of the farming side of the business. She divides her leisure time between her three Patterdale Terriers and her pet sheep, as well as showing and eventing her horses.
--> Mairi Nicholson joined the practice in 2007. After spending a year in practice, Mairi returned to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at Edinburgh University to further her skills as a small animal vet. She is most interested in the medical conditions of dogs, cats and other small animals, and can usually be found at the St Andrews clinic. Her leisure time is also spent mostly outdoors sea kayaking or cycling, and she has also undertaken charity veterinary work in India, working with cats and dogs in need.
<-- Lucanne Perry started with us in November 2009, after qualifying from Edinburgh University, and is working with our pet patients, with a special interest in their surgical conditions. Amongst her interests are walking her pet Sheltie Struan, and horse riding.
-->Nikki Whelan joined the practice in July 2010. After spending a year in the north of Scotland, she has moved down to join us working mostly with the equine and cattle side of the practice.
