Out of Hours Emergency Service  - 07872 817599
Dealing with Emergencies -
Dogs and Cats

Firstly - Don't Panic.

Follow the links on the left for our guidance on common pet emergencies - however if you feel you need to contact the vet, please phone your usual clinic on the numbers listed below left.  Even during normal working hours, you will be seen more quickly if you phone us before setting off to the clinic.  There is not always a vet available to see your animal immediately!

Please bear in mind that our out of hours service is provided by the same team of vets that work during the day - hence they may well be asleep if you call during the small hours.

Please try and remain composed when on the phone - the important bits of information will be your name, your pets name and your location.  Sensible detail about what has occured is useful in helping the vet decide whether the expense of an immediate emergency attendance is required, or whether the condition may be safely left until the clinics are open again for routine work.

While we believe it is an important part of our service to clients and their animals that we provide a 24 hour service, it does lead us to incur significant extra costs.  As a result of this, the charges associated with seeing your animal as an out of hours emergency are significantly higher than those during normal working hours.  In line with our normal terms of trade, we expect to receive payment at the time the animal is seen, regardless of the time of day.

It is generally preferable to see the animal at the surgery if at all possible, as we will have full access to the wide range of equipment and medicines on site, and so will be able to tend to your pet more rapidly and comprehensively than at home.
