There are occasional vacancies in the practice for all posts, but please bear in mind that many people are attracted to work in this industry and we frequently get many applicants for posts. This especially applies to vet nurse training places, of which we usually have fewer than one vacancy per year.
Small Animal Vet - Feb 2012 - We currently have a vacancy for a Small Animal vet, with some experience to join our team of 6 vets. We have separate small and large animal rotas, and so it would not be envisaged that the successful applicant would need any large animal skills.
- We are looking for a vet with at least one years experience, to provide our clients and their pets with the professional quality and value that they expect from us at all times. The successful applicant would join our team of 3 dedicated small animal vets, and would work mostly at our St Andrews clinic and also spend some time at one of the two other branches based at Newport on Tay and Ladybank.
- The ability to work both as part of the team and to be confident and competent to work alone in the branches is important. While most in-patient and surgical activities take place at the St Andrews clinic, routine surgery and dentistry is carried out in the branches, as well as the usual range of consulting activities. All animal records are fully computerised.
- We have a well equipped practice laboratory, x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy.
- We are a Vet Nurse Training centre, and the successful candidate would be expected to assist to some extent with this. A Clinical Coach qualification may be beneficial, but is not necessary at this time.
- CPD is encouraged and funded where this can be shown to have both personal and business development potential. This may include working towards a Vet GP certificate.
- Salary and housing allowance provided. The successful candidate will be expected to live within the practice area. Fuel allowance paid for travel between clinics and occasional house visits where required. Driving Licence essential.
- We would envisage a start date in late March or early April 2012. Interested applicants are requested to send a CV and cover letter to our Practice Manager wendy.macdonald@provostvets.co.uk by 10th March 2012
